I am not sure who or what this flying creature is but I stayed far, far away. He/she was also enjoying the nectar from the purple flowers at Alderfer-Oenslager Wildlife Sanctuary.

Yellow Waterlily in The Land of Monet
Yellow waterlilies do live at the Alderfer-Oenslager Wildlife Sanctuary, they were not in bloom when I was there two weeks ago.

Alright, so Mr. Rimsky-Korsakov is not really purple. He is drinking the nectar from this beautiful purple flower that resides among the pink, white and yellow waterlilies. This picture is dedicated in loving memory to Jackie (a.k.a Mom #2). Hope you are having a heavenly birthday celebration today.
